Students Helping to Achieve Diversity and Equality (SHADE)

Students Helping to Achieve Diversity and Equality (SHADE) is a student-led organization in the School whose mission is to ensure an adequate and active representation of the interests and concerns relevant to issues of diversity and persons of color within the School. SHADE strives to accomplish its goals in several different ways. These include: ensuring an environment that welcomes and honors diversity; monitoring the activities of the School toward achieving a diverse faculty, staff, and student body; and ensuring that diversity is represented in all aspects of the School's curriculum. Membership in SHADE is open to all students. SHADE has a vote at faculty meetings.
