The School's staff plays a large role supporting our faculty and students. They carry out many functions in administrative and student services and welcome your questions.

Brenda Armstrong < more info >

Brenda Armstrong, Field Program Assistant since April 2007, coordinates the field education program, edits two department newsletters, and works on alumni relations projects. She graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, with a B.A. in Advertising and Mass Communications and a minor in Business. She has experience in program development and project management as well as in writing and editing.

Mr. DeGroff assists in the Mail/Copy Room. He delivers mail around campus in a timely manner and can be found fishing during his free time.

Program Assistant - Ms. Komro's responsibilities include: managing the School's Mail and Copy Room, managing and ordering supplies, supervising student workers, assisting in grants applications, and providing faculty support. An expert in many areas, Ms. Komro is quick to respond to calls for help in varied projects.

Graduate Program Coordinator for the Doctoral program in the School of Social Welfare. Tanya works directly with the Chair of the Ph.D. program and is responsible for the administration and implementation of graduate program activities and procedures from admission to graduation. She serves as a member of the Awards committee and the Recruitment and Retention of Students of Color committee. She is also administratively responsible for the Teaching Assistants appointments.

Debby O'Connell < more info >

Student Status Examiner - Ms. O'Connell coordinates the Master's admissions process, assists with the Timetable, assists students with course enrollment questions, collects and turns in grades for all instructors, and provides support to various faculty members. She is extremely knowledgeable in student records issues and ready to answer any question in this area.

Program Assistant - Ms. Thoele assists in the admissions process for the Masters and Doctoral programs. She is the first contact for most students inquiring about our programs. In addition, she provides support for the program advisors, is known to give School tours and can answer almost any question a student might have.
