FINANCIAL INFORMATION

The School of Social Work makes every effort to provide financial support to PhD students, new and continuing.

Information about financial support for our doctoral students, University of Wisconsin-Madison Fellowships, and additional funding sources can be found at this link.

The School of Social Work does not require an MSW for admission into the PhD program. Applicants wishing to obtain their MSW while completing the doctoral program will enter through our Joint MSW/PhD Program. It is important to be aware that MSW course work and field work requirements of the Joint Program require a full-time commitment. As such, funding in the form of teaching and project assistantships is generally not available for students who enter the Joint Program until the MSW requirements have been completed.
