Debra Beebe Memorial Lecture

This year's Debra Beebe Memorial Lecture featured guest speaker Dr. Larry Davidson, Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Davidson spoke to a standing-room-only crowd on April 24 at the Pyle Center. His presentation, titled "Recovery from Mental Illness Is Not Only Possible . . . It's Happening Every Day," was followed by a reception in the Robert P. Lee Lounge. This University lecture is dedicated to Debra Beebe, a graduate of the School of Social Work's MSSW program who was tragically killed in the early 1990s while working in a Madison group home for persons with mental illness. Ms. Beebe's parents have established scholarships in their daughter's name that are given annually to Social Work students committed to working with persons with mental illness.
