    School of Social Work Scholarships:

The following Scholarships and Awards are made available for incoming Social Work students due to the generosity of our alumni, families of alumni and friends of the School. We thank them for their support.

    Katherine Prichard Benz Award: ($2000)
One or two scholarships are provided each year to an undergraduate or graduate social work student who has a strong commitment to social work, a demonstrated financial need, and who is working his or her way through school. Mrs. Benz was able to complete her MSW degree in 1951 thanks to a University scholarship and a part-time job. In hopes of affording other social work students the same opportunity, she has established the Katherine Prichard Benz Award.

    Helen I. Clarke Award: ($1000)
Helen Clarke was the first full-time Social Work faculty member, who came to the University after working in the Settlement Houses of New York. She adhered to that tradition in her teaching. This scholarship is awarded each year to an entering MSW student whose experience, accomplishments, and aspirations exemplify the spirit of Jane Addams and the settlement house tradition. This student should also be in need of financial aid.
