ACCESS WORKER

The Taylor County Human Services Department has a full-time opening for an Access Worker. The Access Worker duties include providing professional level duties to children, families, and community through the gathering, understanding and assessing of family information and dynamics that contribute to the threats to child safety or the maltreatment to make decisions about which families receive Child Protective Services (CPS) intervention (Access Standards). Duties include gathering information to identify and locate children and parents or primary caretakers, analyzing information to make determinations for statutory and standard criteria for maltreatment, assessing child safety, making recommendations in accordance with Department of Children and Families Access and Safety standards, handling emergency situations and determining how to meet the immediate needs of child and family being reported.

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related field with certification or eligibility for certification as a social worker by the State of Wisconsin and prior experience in child welfare or juvenile justice and/or experience in a human service related field is preferred or a minimum of a two-year degree in a human service field with five years of experience in a human service field with high competency/knowledge and skillset in human development and child welfare issues.
