Elder Benefit Specialist

Iron County is accepting applications for a Full-Time Elder Benefit Specialist through the
Department of Human Services. This position is located at the Iron County Branch of the
ADRC-N. The Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS), provides individuals 60 years of age and older
with information, assistance, and advocacy, in the three main priority areas of public benefits,
housing and consumer issues. The EBS is also responsible for coordinating outreach and
education to older persons, service providers and professionals in the community. The EBS acts
as a consultant to other service providers and professionals.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, preferably in a health or human servicerelated field. Minimum of one or more years of experience working with one or more client
populations of the ADRC or Aging Unit is required; 3 years of experience is preferred. Must
possess strong computer skills, written and verbal communication skills and exceptional
customer service skills.

Additional Requirements: Successfully complete required initial and ongoing trainings. Must be
willing to be fingerprinted, consent to background checks and authorize release of any
investigative and criminal records. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable,
insured vehicle. Overnight travel is required. Health insurance and other benefits are a part of
the county benefit package. Salary based on experience.
