Title: Social Worker I, II, or Senior – Juvenile Court Ongoing

Department/Location: Human Services & Health/Henry Dodge Building

Reports to: Human Services Supervisor

Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Overall Purpose/Summary: Under the general direction of Human Services Supervisor, provides juvenile risk and needs assessment, treatment planning, competency building, due process, and diversions from the juvenile justice system; ensures juvenile accountability and public protection using the most effective dispositional options while protecting victim rights.

Education and Experience:

Level I: Bachelor’s degree in social work and possess a social worker certification as defined under Wisconsin State Statute 457.08. Consideration may be given to completion of this certification during orientation period.

Level II: Bachelor’s degree in social work and possess a social worker certification as defined under Wisconsin State Statute 457.08, two (2) years related work experience in Social Work and five (5) CEU’s related to Social Work practice. OR Master’s Degree in Social Work and possess a social worker certification as defined under Wisconsin State Statute 457.08.

Senior: Master’s degree in Social Work and possess a social worker certification as defined under Wisconsin State Statute 457.08, two (2) years related work experience in Social Work, and ten (10) CEU’s related to Social Work practice, OR Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and possess a social worker certification as defined under Wisconsin State Statute 457.08, seven (7) years related work experience in Social Work and ten (10) CEU’s related to Social Work practice.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of/or experience in the delivery of health care services.
  • Considerable ability to relate to low-income persons, health and social service providers, policy making boards and general public.
  • Considerable ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Considerable ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all information regarding program participants.
  • Considerable knowledge of nutrition, especially the special needs of pregnant and lactating women, infants and children.
  • Must meet requirements of Dodge County Driver Qualification Program.

Starting Wage Range (1/1/20):

Level I: $23.58/hr. – $30.66/hr.

Level II: $25.80/hr. – $33.56/hr.

Senior: $28.02/hr. – $36.43/hr.
