We have an opening for an Alternative Sanctions Program Coordinator in our Alternative Sanctions program in Madison, WI! The Alternative Sanctions Program Coordinator (PC) provides assessments, and case consultation/coordination management. This position works on a team with the Court Officials (Judge and Commissioner), Dane County District Attorney’s (DA) representative, WI State Public Defender’s (PD) representative, Department of Correction’s (DOC) agent, and participates in weekly team meetings and court proceedings. The role includes relaying information between treatment providers/case managers to the court system, providing clinical expertise to the team, including suggestions regarding the use of incentives and sanctions for individual consumers. This position requires travel within Dane County.

FOLLOWING IS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The PC is reports directly to the assigned supervisor with overall overall program supervision by the Director. This position is included in the Professional Bargaining Unit.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field
- 3 years relevant experience (mental health, substance use, criminal justice system, etc.)
- Excellent Communication Skills both oral and written
- Strong commitment to cultural sensitivity
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a favorable driving record, adequate insurance (per state law) and access to a vehicle
Typical Physical Demands
Requires driving, sitting, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching; and the ability to use and operate standard office equipment, including computer, calculator, phone, printer, cell phone, facsimile, etc.
May require early morning or evening hours depending on program and consumer’s needs.
- Bi-lingual, and/or bi-cultural (Spanish/Hmong/Cambodian).
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical leadership role
- Master’s degree in human services field with eligibility for licensure as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor licensure
- Knowledge of 10 Key Components of a Drug Court and other recommendations for successful problem solving court programs
- Knowledge of substance use disorders (SUD), Medication Assisted Treatment, and available SUD treatment in Dane County and State of WI
A. Provide Clinical Coordination
- Meet with case managers weekly, monitoring for compliance with treatment plans and reporting the updates to the court team
- Offer clinical expertise
- Review weekly case management reports and obtain clarifications
- Assist in coordinating treatment plan changes
- Maintain excellent working relationships
- Participate in meetings
- Collect and analyze data and evaluate program performance
- Develop and prepare reports
B. Provide clinical services
- Conduct consumer interviews and assessments
- Recommend additional assessment as deemed clinically indicated
- Obtains collateral information to aid in the assessment process
- Review all cases in which eligibility status is questionable with the program supervisor
- Provide consumers with a thorough understanding of program expectations and requirements, including their rights and the grievance procedure
- Inform consumers of their program status during the course of evaluation
- Lead weekly therapy group
C. Quality Assurance
- Continually upgrade clinical skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation
- Accurately represent agency’s mission, vision and values
- Respond promptly to requests for information
- Maintain positive and supportive relationships
