University Counseling Services (UCS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) serves a diverse student population and seeks masters-level counselors and social workers for direct clinical care.  Our clinic provides outpatient mental health services to undergraduate and graduate students at UWM.  The counselor would join a multidisciplinary and dynamic team of health and mental health care professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors as well as medical staff who are devoted to exceptional clinical care provided within a collaborative environment.  You will be working in University Counseling Services unit of the Norris Health Center as a No Prefix or Sr Counselor on the campus of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee which has over 26,000 graduate and undergraduate students.   The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee provides an affordable, world-class education and is known as one of the top research universities, as well as one of the most diverse campuses in the country.  Located on Milwaukee’s residential east side, campus is just blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan and home to 11 of UWM’s 15 schools and colleges.  The counselor position features opportunities to provide mental health outreach, provide training and supervision, and serve a diverse student population from a social justice lens.  We are seeking skilled clinicians with an interest in taking a leadership role in outreach to our diverse community of students, including counselors with specific expertise in working with BIPOC, LGBTQ, international students, or who have expertise in AODA or eating disorders.

Most care provided at the center is free or low cost to the student and not billed to insurance. The Norris Health Center currently operates from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  The position is salaried, which is negotiable based on qualification and experience.  This position can be negotiated as 9 or 10-month, full or part-time.
