Barbara Lee Hufschmidt, BA

I was attending summer school in 1970 and was taking an introduction to social work class as a requirement for the school of education. Professor Lee Masters was teaching the class that met every day for 2 hrs. Needless to say, I fell in love with social work and subsequently changed my major. I did my field placement at Mendota Mental Health Institute and Dane County Human Services. I have many lovely memories of my classmates and professors. I worked for Polk County Social Services after graduation for 3 yrs before attending UWM for my MSW. Upon completion I worked for Waukesha County Human Services for 32 years in Child Welfare. Professor Alfred Kadushin (not sure of the spelling) introduced me to the field from his class and book.
