Days/Hours:
This is a 40 hour per week position with flexible office hours Monday-Friday. Based upon need and
deadlines, some limited evening and weekend hours are required. This is an in person, on site position,
with the flexibility to work occasionally remotely.

Pay Range:
Starting pay $55,000 – $66,560 year – dependent on professional experience and education
level. Additional compensation may be available based on job-related advanced degrees.

Description:
The Human Resources Manager will play an active role in attracting, engaging and retaining the
employee base. The role is responsible for the oversight and management of the Talent Acquisition
Process, Paycor HRIS (Human Resources Information System) administration and the Total Rewards
Program (including compensation and benefit programs). The role will participate in the Diversity, Equity
& Inclusion and Administrative Services committees. The Manager will navigate employee relations
issues that arise with staff members and play an active role in onboarding new employees and providing
ongoing training to managers on best practices. The Manager will create, update and maintain human
resources related policies & procedures with the input of the Leadership Team.
Duties:
Attract, Engage & Retain Staff:
• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human
resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs,
recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other management and staff,
providing advice and guidance as needed, while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
• Conducts onsite orientations, exit interviews as necessary.
• Manages key distribution and supports key fob and security.
• Helps set up office/cubicle spaces for new employees. Orders business cards, nameplates, sets
up mailbox and phone. Supports office clean out.
• Conducts employee relations investigations as necessary.
• With support of Executive Director, navigates employee relations issues (including progressive
discipline and separations).
• Lead Talent Acquisition process, including doing backend work in Paycor/ Paycor Hiring
software.
• Process employee new hire paperwork (including background checks for both employees and
volunteers) and provide initial orientation.
• Create and maintain employee files ensuring that all confidential documents are kept secure.
• Ensure, timely completion of performance appraisals.
• Explore relevant training and support registrations for conferences and trainings.
• Works with Executive Director to ensure an appropriate distribution of the workload amongst
staff members. Maintains complete and appropriate staffing to meet company goals. Ensures
appropriate and clear direction.
HRIS & HR Systems Leadership:
• Manages the Human Resource Information System (including associated systems) and
coordinate hiring process with Managers.
• Maintains job descriptions, announcements and offer letters within the system.
• Supports the Finance Director with processing Payroll (act as backup).
• Produced HRIS reports as necessary.
• Supports Grants & IT Director with setting up emails and network access.
Total Rewards:
• Assist with development, design, evaluating and modification of benefit policies to ensure
programs are current and in compliance with legal regulations, including collecting data for third
party benefit administrators.
• Answers questions and gives guidance to employees on benefit related questions.
• Oversee employee changes in conjunction with payroll/benefits administration.
• Participates in compensation programs and market assessment.
• Creates total rewards statements for employees.
Developing and implementing human resources policies & procedures:
• Reviews and suggests Human Resources policies and objectives for the company that will
establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote high level of employee
engagement and motivation.
• Ensure appropriate and clear direction. Ensure adherence to the company’s policies, guidelines,
and procedures.
• Monitors workers’ compensation claims and employee leaves of absence coordinating
responsibilities between Employee, Human Resources, and insurance carrier.
• Completes timely Affirmative Action Report to funders.
• Maintains the HR Job Description and Duties document (SOP).
• Maintain education regarding DOL, employment law changes, benefits regulations, appropriate
office place postings, etc.
Required Education and Experience:
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field.
• Requires 3-5 years human resources experience
Required Skills:
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in a closely knit workplace and not engage in workplace
behaviors that are harmful to morale.
• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications; preferred experience
with HRIS systems (Paycor experience preferred).
• Highly tech savvy and able to work with varying software programs.
• Demonstrated record of managing HR programs and practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
