Program Specialist – Aging (Project) Dementia Stabilization & Care Transition Unit (DSCT)

Dane County Human Services is looking to hire a Program Specialist (Aging) to oversee the research and development of a Dementia Stabilization and Care Transition Unit (DSCTU) in Dane County. This is a one year project position and an exciting opportunity to help develop a resource to further support persons with dementia experiencing physically aggressive behaviors who cannot be emergently detained but are in need of assessment and stabilization. The DSCTU will be the alternative to emergency detentions. This position will be responsible for the overall project management and coordination to develop the DSCTU.

Below is a description of the position:

Under the direction of the Manager of APS, and in collaboration with Planning Initiative stakeholders, the purpose of this Program Specialist-Aging position will be to provide overall project management coordination for the Dementia Stabilization and Care Transitions unit planning process, to include: research and presentation of options for unit licensing and regulations required, consideration of staffing levels and needs, and cost analysis and assessment of risk aversion/education needed. The position is dedicated solely to the planning for a Dementia Stabilization and Care Transition Unit. They are responsible for drafting and completing final documents upon approval by planning initiative stakeholders.
