Three Gaits is a nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted activities and therapy to people of all ages living with a disability. Riding in the Moment™ is an evidence-informed program designed to increase the quality of life of adults living with dementia and their family members and friends. RM™ is delivered by trained staff and volunteers at Three Gaits in partnership with the UW Geriatric Health Services Research Lab. Three Gaits was awarded a three-year grant by the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Public Health and Medicine in partnership with the Geriatric Health Services Research Lab (GHSRL) to implement and build a sustainable program to bring this much needed service to our community.
GENERAL FUNCTION
We are seeking a skilled Program Manager to join our team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the PM is responsible for overseeing and implementing RM™ at Three Gaits.
In conjunction with Three Gaits’ Executive Director and Program & Operations Director, the PM manages the supporting Community Impact Grant, builds strong and successful relationships with partner organizations and the community, and implements two to three seasonal (8) week activity-based sessions of RM™ each year with an overarching goal of building a sustainable, long-term program to support those living in our community with dementia.
– Communicates with the ED, Program Director, Volunteer Coordinator, and GHSRL team to coordinate weekly activities.
– Ensures all participants and caregivers are treated respectfully and that a dementia friendly environment is maintained.
– The position is part-time and is approved for 20 hours per week.
– Flexible work hours, however, a consistent and regular presence on the farm is required.
– All systems may be accessed remotely.
