643 Social Work and Delinquency

MSW Specialization and Elective Courses
II; 2-3 cr (S-A). P: Open to Social Welfare Majors, BSW and MSW students and others with instructor consent. This course is designed to enhance students' knowledge base regarding social work services to youth who are troubled and delinquent. The course examines etiological factors that contribute to mental health issues experienced by this population. These factors along with a basic conceptual understanding of child and adolescent psychopathology will be applied to the social work process of assessment, treatment, and prevention for this population.
