Checkout and Order Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will it take to process my order?

A: Most orders will be processed and shipped within two business days (Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays). If you need your order as quickly as possible, please select expedited shipping and note in the comments section that you need rush processing.

 

Q: How do I pay for my order?

A: Orders can be paid for with a credit card, debit card, check or money order. Credit and debit cards are accepted via the CASHNet payment gateway, available during checkout. CASHNet is a secure payment gateway authorized by the University of Wisconsin, and Social Work employees do not have access to credit card information nor is credit or debit card information retained by Social Work. Checks or money orders can be mailed to the School of Social Work (address is provided during checkout) or handed over in person if an order is to be picked up from the School.

 

Q: Can I pick up my order?

A: Of course!  Please place your order online and make sure you select "School pick-up."  You'll receive an email when your order is completed and ready for pickup, which is normally available from Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm at 1350 University Avenue, Madison, WI. Saturday pickup of orders is available when classes for the Part-Time MSW Program are in session. If Saturday is the most convenient time to pick up an order, please state this in the order comments during checkout. Orders may also be picked up at UW-Eau Claire, though there will be a delay as the order is transferred from Madison.

 

Q: I want to place a large order of over a dozen of a single item.  Do I need to do anything differently?

A: Please call and confirm stock before placing your order.

 

Q: How is shipping calculated?

A: Shipping is calculated by weight and by the type of shipping service. It is less expensive to purchase two items together in a single order than to purchase two items in separate orders.

 

Q: Is insurance included with shipping?

A: Our packages shipped via Priority Mail come with $50 in insurance. Orders shipped via First Class Mail do not have insurance included.

 

Q: What is the return policy?

A: For goods: Customers may return items up to one month after purchase. Items must be returned in brand-new, unused condition packed in the same manner as originally shipped. A refund of the item cost will be given within one week of the receipt of the returned items.  Shipping costs are not refundable.  The customer is responsible for return shipping.

 

For services: Customers may cancel registration for a workshop up to one week before the event with no penalty, recieving a full refund. Less than 7 days before the event, no refund can be issued.  The participant can opt to sent a substitute in their place. The registrant is responsible for communicating the name of the substitute to the School of Social Work. Please note that some events hosted by the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System may have an alternate policy; please check the event page when registering for the cancellation and refund policy.

 

Q: What business name will be reflected on my credit or debit card statement?

A: Payments processed by a credit or debit card will appear on most statements as "UW SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK," or "SOCIAL."

 

Q: What does the School do with information that I submit during the checkout process?

A: The School retains the name, mailing address and email address submitted while placing an order to be used for administrative and operational purposes. No credit or debit card information is retained by the School. Your personally identifiable information will never be shared or sold, rented, traded or distributed to another entity, except in cooperation with government agencies or as required by law.
