Every semester the School hosts lectures, conferences, alumni receptions, and more. Many events, such as the Distinguished Alumni Lecture, are open to all. Others focus on students and practicing social workers, such as the Social Workers Confronting Racial Injustice Conference. Continuing Education Credits are available at no or little cost for several events.
Events not sponsored by the School of Social Work are listed for your convenience. Please independently verify non-Social Work event times and locations before attending. To add events to this calendar, please contact our staff with event details.
All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend the monthly All School Meeting. Minutes are generally posted within a week of the meeting and can be found here. Other meetings may not be open to outside attendees pursuant to Wis.Stats., Section 19.85(1)(a-e); please check with the organizer. Pursuant to Wis.Stats., Section 19.85(1)(a-e) during part of the meeting, the Executive Committee and Faculty Search Committee will meet in closed session to discuss personnel matters.
If you need an accommodation to attend an event sponsored by the School of Social Work, please contact Bill Heiss. All accommodation requests should be made no less than two weeks before the event. We will attempt to fulfill requests made after this date but cannot guarantee they will be met.
