2-3 cr. P: grad st. This advanced graduate course will focus on political advocacy strategies in public policy and government settings. To best prepare social workers and those seeking to impact public policy and social change and improve the social and economic status of individuals, families, communities and systems, students in this course will examine the knowledge and political skills, strategies, techniques and actions which influence elected officials and policy makers and the policies, practices, programs, services and resources they establish for people in need through local, state and federal units of government.
