Dr. Charles Zastrow, PhD ’71, was recently named a “Social Work Pioneer” by the NASW Foundation for his decades of contributions to the field. The author of three social work textbooks and co-author of two more, his work has “influenced generations of students about choosing social work as a profession,” as the NASW Foundation points out.
Dr. Zastrow taught for many years at UW-Whitewater as well as George Williams College and “provides leadership in developing accreditation standards at the state-level in Wisconsin and nationally through the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).”
The NASW Social Work Pioneers Program honors individuals whose “unique dedication, commitment, and determination have improved social and human conditions.”
