New Student JEDI Training a Success

JEDI TrainingThis fall, the school hosted our first Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) training for all in-coming students as part of a two-day new student orientation. It featured numerous alumni (9 panelists of practicing social workers), over 15 faculty and staff who helped facilitate the student mingle, and a former field faculty.  We also hosted Justin Harty from the University of Chicago for a talk about Black Social Work History: Confronting the Roots of Whiteness, Racism, and Colonialism in the progression of social work. The entire event was very highly rated by attendees and Justin Harty’s talk is available on our internal YouTube for viewing. Thanks to everyone who made JEDI a success.
