Stanley Witkin, MSW ’74, PhD 76, is a retired professor emeritus of social work at the University of Vermont. After a career of academic publishing, his first novel, Finding Lenny, (Barrington Pub.) was just published (available on Amazon and other online book retailers).
The book tells a story about a retired social work professor coming to grips with retirement, aging, dying, and the impact of contingent events on one’s life. Stanley lives in Virginia with his spouse, Frannie Joseph, an accomplished artist who designed the Finding Lenny cover.
One reviewer writes, “This jewel of a book does that. Lenny is a person we would all want to be friends with — you know someone like him, but you do not always hear the depths of a friend’s soul and experience the choices that make his life meaningful.”
