Biography

Amanda graduated from the University of Wisconsin Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work in 2021 and earned her MSW at the University of Chicago in 2022. Amanda is a licensed clinical social worker at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. Currently, she works in the outpatient kidney transplant clinic.  She began her medical social work career inpatient where she gained skills in crisis intervention, discharge planning, care coordination, and connecting patients to community resources to support safe transitions of care. For the last year, she has been serving the transplant population where she addresses the emotional, social, and practical barriers to transplant. She strives to support patients’ well-being while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care. 

As a transplant social worker, she is passionate about helping patients navigate complex medical, emotional, and financial challenges to transplant. Her unwavering commitment to advocate for equitable care, provide emotional support, and improve access to essential resources is what guides her day to day practice. 

Coming from a long line of Wisconsin Badgers, she was raised with a strong sense of tradition, school pride, and appreciation for the values of hard work, community, and perseverance. Being part of a family deeply connected to the University of Wisconsin has shaped both her personal and professional identity. She looks forward to her annual pilgrimage to Madison – a way to revisit her glory days and enjoy a brat on State Street!
