Jungjin “Jin” Koo is a PhD student in Social Welfare and a Graduate Research Fellow at the Institute for Research on Poverty. His research interests include different definitions and measurements of poverty, and the effects of various social safety net programs on poverty.

Jin holds an MS in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, along with an MSW and a BSW from Chung-Ang University in South Korea. Prior to his doctoral studies, Jin worked as a Policy Specialist at the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, and as a Research Intern at the UNDP Human Development Report Office.
