Sakara Wages, MSW is a doctoral candidate and graduate research assistant at UW-Madison’s Sandra Rosenbaum School of  Social Work. Sakara is also a lecturer at UW-Platteville (UWP), director of programs and evaluations at the Progress Center for Black Women (Madison, WI), and co-founder of BlkPlatteCom (Platteville, WI). Her research interests include black women nonstate service providers; Critical Theory; and Anti-Oppressive Pedagogies. Her personal interests include joy, autonomy, liberation, and disruption.
