This scholarship is established in memory of Tamara Grigsby, who earned her MSSW from UW-Madison School of Social Work in 2000. She was a champion for equity, social justice, and inclusion, especially for Wisconsin’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people. Tamara committed her life to public service. She introduced and passed a record number of legislative measures to bring and secure opportunity to children and families in the state. Although Tamara’s time with us was much too short, she leaves a longstanding legacy for promising students to emulate. This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduate student. The award recipient is to be chosen by faculty in consultation with the School’s director. Selection criteria include academic excellence, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to social justice advocacy.
