Slack Selected as Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare

Dr. Kristi Slack

Dr. Kristi Slack has been selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW) for “distinguished accomplishments as a scholar and practice and policy leader dedicated to achieving excellence in high-impact work to advance social good.” The virtual induction ceremony will be held at the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Annual Conference in January.

Professor Slack joins Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work Professors Lonnie Berger, Katherine Magnuson, Dan Meyer, and Stephanie Robert as Academy Fellows. Her research advances approaches to better coordinating services and benefits to effectively address the economic needs of families at risk for child maltreatment, and improved assessment strategies for identifying risks and protective factors related to child neglect.

The Academy is an honorific society of distinguished scholars and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in the field of social work and social welfare through high-impact work that advances social good.
